Moving Time

We are in the middle of packing the apartment because Tuesday will be moving day! Yay for a 2-bedroom apartment with 250 more square feet! (Enough for my own craft room!!!) Since everything's being put into a ton of boxes, you won't be getting another project post until some time next week or the week after. And I'd post a picture of the mess my craft supplies are in, but I've lost the camera in all the crazy... so, I'll try to get some pictures up after everything settles down. Stay inspired!

Flapper Dress Card

Money Saving Tip:

Like the look of clear acetate, but don't want to pay the $1-$3 price for one sheet? Buy a package of clear transparencies to get the same affect of seeing through your projects, I got a package of 100, that's 3M brand, off amazon for only $8 and shipping.

Wedding Album

This is an album that I made for a couple at church who are getting married in May. I wasn't really sure on what their colors are going to be, so I decided to go for the whites, creams, and browns to give it that old-fashioned, traditional wedding feeling. I am so happy with the way it turned out! And can you belive that I cranked this baby out in only 2 DAYS!!!

Money Saving Tip:
Like the trendy look of using a clip-it-up spinning organizer for your stickers and other embellishments... but hate the $70 price? Check out Hobby Lobby, they now have their own version of the clip up organizer for only $35!! And if you get it when their scrapbooking totes and organizers are on sale, you can snag this baby for a grand total of $17.50!!! Is that a deal or what?!?

Inspired By

Cupcake card I made to submit to Paper Crafts Magazine for their "Inspired By" section, where you can submit work that was inspired by projects from their magazine. Doesn't that cupcake look just yummy?
Made 6 of these cards to use as a gift set, I just love those colors together:

Tea bag set, with 6 decorated tea bags inside:

Money Saving Tip:

Wouldn't it be so cool to get really cute items for only $1 each? Keep an eye out, many stores have $1 areas that are stocked with scrapbook supplies. Dollar Tree, Target, and Michael's (just to name a few), usually have stickers, gem stones, ribbon, stamps, ink pads, glitter, and so much more stocked in their stores for only a DOLLAR! Check it out, and stock up on fun stuff for less than what you spend on lunch every day!

Cakes, Hats, and Flowers

Money Saving Tip for the Day:
Starting your spring cleaning? While going through all those clothes you're going to donate to Good Will, pull out those that are just a little more worn out to donate to your scrap stash... pull lace, ribbon, buttons, cut the fabric into strips to make some twisty posie flowers, then cut the rest up to make rags to clean the toilet with. Remember to look for beauty in unusual places!

Grease is the Word!

Two posts in one day, wow, I am on a roll! Well, tomorrow night I am going to go see my cousin in her high school's performance of the musical Grease, and she has a very good roll for only being a Freshman. Anyways, I was trying to think of something really cool to take her as kind of a congratulations/job well done gift... that's when I came up with this awesome little hair clip. I just printed out a picture of the Grease logo in the size I wanted, traced it backwards on the backs of two pieces of glitter-foam, cut them out, glued everything together, then gathered the blue tulle behind, and added a ribbon-covered clip. I'm so excited about how this turned out!

Money Saving Tip for the Day:
Check out some garage sales, estate sales, and thrift stores. Be open-minded and think about everything with a creative mindset... look for items to alter, buttons, tape measures, old dress patterns, dictionaries & other books, storage, picture frames, glass jars, ribbon, etc. Go out, have fun, and who knows what trash can come home as your treasure!

Door Hanger Replacement

I've had the same door hanger on my front door for the last 4 1/2 months... a cute little girl scare crow that says "Welcome." So, I thought it was time for some change. And what's the next holiday coming up? That's right... St. Patrick's Day! And since I'm Irish, and my husband's Irish, I LOVE St. Patrick's Day!

Money Saving Tip for Today:

Get together with some friends, that scrapbook as well, and have an "Old Things New" party. Bring tools and other supplies that you don't want or haven't ever used and trade to get some new stuff, maybe even stuff that you wouldn't have ever bought yourself. Then, when you go home, challenge yourself to make something great with that "new" item(s). Have fun!
