365 Journaling Set

I'm loving all this rain Oklahoma's getting! A great excuse for crafting! One of my best friends has been in France for nearly a year (studying abroad), and her Mom's birthday was just a couple days before she got back to the states. So, I decided to put together this cute little journaling giftset for her 50th birthday. I made the card first, then got inspired by the card to make the rest of the set.

I got the journal at half-price books during one of their sales, and the jar used to hold alfredo sauce. There are 365 journaling prompts that go along with this set (but not all of them woulf fit in the jar, so I just tucked them into an envelope and put it inside the journal). I hope you enjoy this little idea! P.S. - ZOTS are perfect for this project, b/c they really stick to the glass jar and metal lid and hold up so well!

New Craft Room

I'm so excited to have my own personal craft room (even if I do share it with the DVD shelves and my husband's guitars and amps). Even though I'm very happy with how it's turned out, I'm pretty sure every crafting woman will tell you that it will never stop changing and evolving for the better (and sometimes worse when you need a good clean-up). Anyways, here are some pictures of what I've done so far:
The north wall, window's facing the pool. I love my cabinet top on top of my cubes, it fits perfect and is just the right size for almost any project!

The ribbon shelf my sunt go me for Christmas just got put together about 2 weeks ago, but I already love using it! The metal bar, hooks, and metal hanging shelf are from IKEA, the baskets are from Hobby Lobby (on sale, I got them for $1.00 each). The pink hat boxes are also from Hobby Lobby, and the black is actually flocked! The Easter Bunny (my mommy) bought them for me, and they hold my fabric, felt, and lace/tulle.

These are just wooden plaques I got at Hobby Lobby (they're regular $3.00 each), and I painted them to match. I wanted to have the images show some of the different crafts that I like.

I love that I got Lola in some of these pictures, isn't she cute?! The black wall shelf is from Hobby Lobby (in their unfinishes wood stuff, regular price is only $12.99!). The little glass jars are from HL (do you think I like shopping there or something?), they're only $1.50 regular priced and I just ried matching hot-pink, zebra-print ribbon around them. Eventually, I want to get a bunch of photo storage boxes (either black or the black and hot pink zebra ones) to fill-up that big shelf and hopefully have a place for everything.

This is where all my dies, machines, and puches are housed (cricut, original sizzix, sizzix side-kick, slice, zutter, cuttlebug, quickutz big squeeze, etc.).

I'm loving the built-in shelves down the left side of the closet, right now it has a lot of stuff I don't use very often. The hanging shelf thing has all my gift-wrapping, gift-sacks, curling ribbon, tissue paper, cards, and tags.

Hope you enjoyed the little tour, I'll try to post pictures as it changes. Thanks for looking!

We're done moving!!!

It's been too long! Well, the move is over and all the stress is off. Honestly, haven't done a lot of crafting lately, but I have been working on my brand new craft room! And I'm sooo excited about how it's coming together! Pictures will be on my next post. The first picture on this post in of my mother-in-law's Mother's Day gift for this year. She likes hot tea, so this has 2 pretty tea cups (one says "have faith" and the other says "believe," and they both have cute little quotes along the same lines written on the inside rim of the tea cups), 2 cans of those gourment chocolate stick things, and various types of tea in a glass jar.
This is a little gift bag that I put together for the kids in the church nursery (I made 20 of them in all); each has a capri sun, a couple rolls of smarties, and a package of gummy fruit snacks.
